Silver dental fillings can now be replaced with tooth-colored restorations.  The edges of silver dental fillings can wear down, become weak or even break.  This may lead to the tooth getting cavities and not being protected anymore.  Silver dental fillings also can corrode, leak, and cause stains on teeth and gums.

At our Mooresville Dentist office, Tooth-Colored Restorations can safely replace silver fillings and create a more pleasing look.  They are made of Resin and creates a tight fit to the natural tooth.  Another advantage of replacing old dental fillings with tooth-colored ones is that tooth-colored restoration contains fluoride which helps prevent decay.
