Each February, the American Dental Association (ADA) sponsors National Children’s Dental Health Month to raise awareness about the importance of oral health. Mooresville-Dentist.com proudly sponsors this annual event throughout the month of February to raise awareness among families and policymakers about the importance to children of good oral health habits.

National Children’s Dental Health Month began as a one-day event in Cleveland, Ohio on Feb. 3, 1941. The American Dental Association held the first national observance of Children’s Dental Health Day on Feb. 8, 1949. This single day observance became a week-long event in 1955, and in 1981 the program was extended to a month-long celebration known today as National Children’s Dental Health Month.

The Dentists at Mooresville-Dentist want your children’s teeth to be healthy from day one.  Developing good habits at an early age and scheduling regular dental visits helps children get a good start on a lifetime of healthy teeth and gums.  Good oral health habits should begin with an introductory dental visit before a child’s first birthday. Children’s teeth are meant to last a lifetime, and with proper care, a healthy diet and regular dental visits, children can have a healthy and happy smile

Here are some activities and coloring sheets that can help you teach your child the proper way to brush and floss.  We have also included a link to a virtual children’s book that we know can help alleviate fear in our littlest patients.

Mooresville-Dentist is now accepting pediatric patients. Give us a call to set up an appointment. (704) 746-3435
